Butler & Stowe announces three long-time managers have become partners of the firm

Gastonia, NC. (May 1, 2018) – The certified public accounting firm, Butler & Stowe, in business since 1949, announces three of its long-time Managers: L. Alexander Thomas, CPA, Sheila O. Thornton, CPA and Shauna D. Lindsay, CPA, have become Partners of the firm. They will join Partners D.M. (Mickey) Payseur and Robert W. Adams.

L. Alexander Thomas joined Butler & Stowe in August 1996 and became a Certified Public Accountant in 1998. Alex’s practice includes income taxation of individuals, partnerships, and corporations as well as consulting and training clients with accounting software. He is originally from Kannapolis, North Carolina and currently resides in Gastonia, North Carolina. Mr. Thomas is a graduate of Gardner Webb University.

Sheila O. Thornton joined Butler & Stowe in September 1996. Ms. Thornton became a Certified Public A ccountant in 1997. Sheila’s practice includes audits, reviews and compilations of financial statements of companies, non-profit organizations, governmental entities and employee benefit plans. Sheila is originally from Jefferson, South Carolina and previously lived in Forest City, North Carolina. She presently resides in Shelby, North Carolina. Ms. Thornton is a graduate of Gardner Webb University.

Shauna D. Lindsay began with Butler & Stowe in September 2003 and became a Certified Public Accountant in 2004. Shauna’s practice consists primarily of taxation of individuals, partnerships, corporations, trusts and estates as well as client accounting issues Shauna is originally from Vale, North Carolina and presently resides there. Ms. Lindsay is a graduate of Appalachian State University.

Partners Mickey Payseur and Robert Adams both indicated that these three CPAs are committed to their profession and serving clients of the firm. These three professionals becoming partners in the firm will allow Butler & Stowe to continue to provide quality, professional services for many years to come.
